It was to this that the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings upon him, made his Night Journey from the Masjid al - Haram in Makkah. It was from this site that he, peace and blessings be upon him, ascended on the Miraj, his journey through the heavens to his Lord : ’Glory be to him Who carried His Servant (Muhammad - peace be upon him) by night, From the Holy Mosque to the Furthest Mosque, The precincts of which We have blessed,That We might show him some of Our signs.
